A love that can't be taken back

For decades, people walked onto bridges in Paris, Cologne and Seoul, clipped a padlock to the railing and threw the key into the water. Then cities began cutting the locks off — too heavy, too many, too much love for the steel to hold.

Love Lock is that railing, rebuilt so nobody can ever cut it down. Ten million locks, numbered from the very first, each one carrying two names, a country, a note and a passkey. Once a lock is sealed it can never be edited, renamed, reopened or deleted — not by you, not by us.

What lives inside the lock is yours alone: a letter, photographs, a voice note, a song, a capsule that stays shut until a date you choose. The wall shows the world your names. The passkey shows the rest to whoever you trust with it.

We started in Paris, on a digital bridge you can scroll end to end, and we keep adding cities as people arrive from new corners of the map.
